Accept or decline a job

ForSubstitutes

When a job opens that you can take, FillMyClass alerts you based on your notification settings. Selecting the alert opens the job.

On the Home tab, select Available jobs. Each job shows its date and time, location, who you’d be subbing for, and how many sub plans it has. Jobs where you’re a preferred sub are marked You’re a preferred sub and listed first.

Switch between Grouped, which shows a multi-day job as one card, and Per-day, which shows each day on its own.

Jobs outside your availability are hidden. To see them, select the filter button and turn on Show Requests Outside My Availability.

  1. Select View Details on the job to see the dates, location, and Notes to substitute.

  2. Select the accept button. Depending on the job, it says Accept This Day, Accept This Position, or Accept followed by the number of days.

  3. Check the days listed, then select Yes, Accept.

When you see You’re confirmed!, the job is yours, and it shows up in your upcoming jobs.

Depending on your organization’s settings, you may only be able to open a job’s sub plans after you accept it.

  • If a job says ALL DAYS MUST BE ACCEPTED BY THE SAME SUB, you have to take every day.
  • Otherwise, you can take all the days, or select Prefer to pick days? Choose specific days, tap each day you can cover, and accept just those.

Select Decline on the job, then confirm. You stop getting alerts about that job, but you’ll still hear about others.

Changed your mind? Select Undo in the message that appears. Later, you can select the filter button, turn on Show Declined, and select Un-decline on the job.

  • “… was just taken” Another sub accepted it first. Any days still open are listed under Still available.
  • “This request is reserved for its preferred substitutes right now.” The message says when it opens to everyone. Check back then.
  • “That day overlaps a job you’ve already accepted” You can’t take two jobs at the same time.
  • “This position has already been filled.” Someone else is covering it.
